Representing the 8th District in Colorado’s House of Representatives since 2016, Leslie is the first openly gay African-American to be elected to the state assembly. She chairs the Colorado Arts Caucus and Black Democratic Legislative Caucus.

Deana assists in various regulatory and policy arenas throughout local, state, and federal government to facilitate relations and viable business solutions.

Deana has served on several executive boards, including Denver Parks & Rec, Denver Health Foundation, and The Colorado Symphony.
